What this person does here
Checks each figure against the source it was read from before the page goes out, and re-checks the licence numbers on a schedule. 8 years of this work, which mostly means refusing numbers that cannot be traced.
Where a source states a figure for a broker's whole group rather than for Australia, it is marked as such on the page instead of being used as a local figure.
Responsible for
On this site: licence numbers, the source behind each figure, the scope of every ranked number.
Every page they touch carries the date the figures were last recalculated, which is how you can tell a page that was re-measured from one that was merely re-read. The current base is 20 brokers for Australia, of which 18 are priced per round turn.
How the three roles divide the work
The writer assembles a page from the measured base and may not alter a figure in it. The editor decides whether a ranking has enough brokers behind it to be published at all - below eight it is not. The fact-checker re-reads each figure against its source and refuses the ones that cannot be traced, which is why blanks on these pages are visible rather than filled in.
Disagreements are settled by the source, not by seniority. If no source settles it, the figure does not run.
